TechToby's First Newsletter!
Well, hello there! Tech Toby writing his first newsletter, how about that?
Before I start, thank you to everyone that has signed up! I have big plans for this newsletter and I really hope it will benefit you in some way. Whether that’s just to stay in touch, learn about jobs, grad schemes, cool things in Tech or just as a nice read!
I must say, I wanted to start this newsletter 4 weeks ago, but… Work got busy. I was tasked with delivering an entire new AWS Platform Architecture to a government client with 4 weeks notice! There is nothing more in life I hate more than projects giving you a small deadline. I’ve been busting my ass off to get everything set up for them. I’ve built 90% of it on Terraform so far and just have a few loose ends to touch up. But damn, I hate it when it’s like this.
Just remember, all of the Tech creators online you watch that are always happy and portray the industry to now give you any BS, they’re lying to you. That’s not what I do. I keep it real. Always. And, I think that’s why I’ve been able to build up a loyal following, I appreciate you all.
You know, I was thinking recently, I think I’ve only ever had 1, or 2 hate comments on my Tech page… and they weren’t even really hate comments, they were just constructive criticism (which annoyed me tad). I think that goes to show, I don’t give you any BS.
Enough of that. What can you expect from me coming up in the future?
An EBOOK! I’m writing an E-Book for people who are interested in Cloud Engineering (also applies to Platform Engineering and DevOps). It will be largely explaining everything that you need to know for each Tech Stack e.g. What is the tech? How does it work? What’s the main job of this tech item?. It will have any recommendations I have for certifications and cover the main frameworks these jobs work under. At the moment it’s 90% complete, I’m just trying to understand how much to charge for it. Trust me, I’m not going to be one of those guys who sales themselves out to try and profit from a tonne of ridiculously expensive courses. The idea around the book is, I always get asked the same questions every day on comments and on lives… So I though hey, let me write a book, if anyone is interested, they have a mini manual they can always refer back to instead of always asking! It will be priced within the region of £10-£30.
As always, thank you very much and we’ll catch up again soon (don’t hold me to that though)
